Where’s the fish this long weekend?

The 40-metre depth mark is full of pilchards. Fish the general area, not necessarily where the surface action is. This way you’re away from all the boat action and will avoid your lures getting smashed by kahawai who are in the centre of the workup. Jigs and softbaits are the go for snapper and kingfish, which are often found well away from the workup itself.
