It’s a workup fishing bonanza in the inner gulf areas! The fishing is going off, with fish after fish after fish being caught on a variety of Catch Fishing lures.

Anglers are making the most of the current workup fishing bonanza in the inner gulf areas. Plenty of fish to take home for dinner. The 25-30m depth has been alive. Whether fishing over the more western side of the gulf down from Kawau, or out from Rakino and the Noises. Or even eastern areas in the Firth among whales and dolphins. A great week of weather and fishing has been had by most, with solid snapper coming aboard in numbers. With frantic action like it has been moving ever closer to the big smoke, expect good things in the inner channels to be starting already. The wind builds and swings around from the north to the souโ€™ west over the next few days, with a lower current flow when the wind is with the tide. Maybe this will help the sea state and allow some of this great fishing to continue to the next lull.

No matter what, the snapper have been obliging and all things align for this to continue as the water temperatures rise, so make hay while the sun shines as they say.

Game fishing on the horizon.

More settled weather systems are coming, providing even more enjoyable fishing adventures, both near and far.ย  And of course the skipjack tuna are due into the Hauraki Gulf around Christmas, perhaps albacore this year? The very occasional marlin, black and striped sneaking in and around the gulf, certainly many more lurking outside of the Barriers confines. So much to look forward to.

Enjoy your chosen style of fishing and using your favourite lures, if one isnโ€™t working, easy, change until you send down the right offering.

Cheers
Espresso.
